Born in 1962, Ashutosh Apte is a multifaceted artist with a rich background in fine arts and art pedagogy. He pursued both his bachelor's and master's degrees at Sir J. J. School of Art, spanning the years from 1980 to 1994. Ashutosh's artistic journey has been marked by a series of notable solo and group exhibitions, showcasing his talents in painting, installations, and performances. His creative reach extended to the prestigious National Gallery of Modern Art in Mumbai, where he presented captivating installations and performances. One of his remarkable achievements includes conceptualizing and executing a large-scale performance involving 1500 participants at a football stadium in Kolkata, centered around the theme of letters. Beyond his visual artistry, Ashutosh Apte is a versatile creative force, delving into writing, directing, and designing. He has authored several one-act plays, full-length plays, and screenplays, displaying his narrative finesse. His insightful articles have found a place in numerous periodicals and newspapers. Ashutosh's literary contributions are equally commendable, with two published books to his name: 'Aptyachi Pane' and 'Ishwar-Nashwar.' His artistic and literary endeavours continue to captivate and inspire, making him a prominent figure in the world of arts and culture.
